Driving down past Lake Annecy and Methon-Saint-Bernard we continue into the Alps with amazing scenery, winding mountain roads, and sweeping views in Saint‑Gervais‑les‑Bains:

The following day was just perfect to explore Mont Blanc and Chamonix, including the Aiguille du Midi cable car and the Mer de Glace glacier, it certainly wasn't a day for wearing jackets:

We arrive in the fairytale charm of Colmar, with colourful canals, Alsatian architecture, and we encounter a bad rental‑car company:

We head out for a day in the wineries where we discovered the beauty of the Alsace Wine Route, including Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr, and Riquewihr and a great walk between two of these towns via the vineyards.
