Colmar: Fairytale Streets and a Rainy Arrival
We left Lucerne early, not too sure why as it was only two and a half hours drive, but glad we did as it rained most of the way and it’s the first time we’ve seen trucks on the road too so there was plenty of water about. It was actually refreshing to have a cooler day for a change.

Saying Goodbye to the Rental Car (Finally!)
We dropped off the rental car and I had a discussion with "Colmar Enterprise Rent A Car" and told them what I thought about the state of the vehicle and their service, even at the Colmar depot they really didn't care, the young fellow behind the counter couldn't give a rats arse and he looked about 12 years old. I asked him to call a taxi for us, which took at least forty-five-minutes to arrive, because he took forever to ring it.
Finally glad to rid ourselves of that rental company and to continue our holiday. On arriving in town, they had the town markets on, so a quick walk through we grabbed some salads, fruit and fresh cheese to make our lunch a little later in the day.
Exploring the "Little Venice" of France
It was really a nothing sort of day, just walked the streets of this fairytale town and kept out of the rain. After a few drinks at the "Deer and Beer" we booked a French restaurant for tonight.
